House Plants
There are many of us who look to our gardens, greenhouses or coldframes for most of our growing enjoyment. But for many who may be housebound or unable to maintain or own a garden, houseplants are the most obvious choice. Recently the gardening boom has somewhat left the indoor plants in the shade, but we hope to bring some of the beauty and colour of some of these plants out on these pages.
As we spend so much of our time in the garden, we have often disregarded the house as anything more than a giant propagator, growing on our garden seeds. While there is clearly immense joy in seeing the seedlings sprout and grow we have been looking to give the house some green and colourful plants all year.
House plants can be extremely sensitive to the conditions around them. We suggest the following plants for areas around the house.
Living rooms and Bedrooms
Begonia Rex, Begonia Tiger and most Begonia species. Ficus Benjamina and Ficus elastica, Try Impatiens, Jasmine, Ferns (in shade),
